Zola
Besties, Science & Engineering, Social Enterprise
Zola needed an in-depth video to launch their flagship home energy storage solution. Everyone who uses it loves it, but its revolutionary capabilities needed to be communicated to skeptical consumers and investors. The goal? Sell two million units in a year to early adopters dealing with an unreliable local power grid in Lagos, Nigeria.

Explaining
Sophisticated Predictive Software
Zola’s Infinity System tracks weather patterns and models Lagos’s energy grid to predict when blackouts will happen. When they do, it chooses whether to pull power from a solar array or the grid, making smart decisions for personal use and for the grid. We filmed the product team working their magic and prepped and interviewed the founder, CEO, and CTO to distill the story of Zola’s game-changing approach.
Resilience
When the Power Goes Out
Two Hats collaborated with Zola’s Lagos team and a local creative agency to reflect the challenges people face with an unreliable grid. When you’re used to losing power 2-12 hours every day, having energy independence is life-changing. We filmed in documentary style, visiting homes and commercial spaces to show what it looks and feels to have clean, reliable power 24/7.

Thank you, everyone, for an incredible collaboration. Here’s to energy independence in Lagos!
